PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance and streamline a predictive conversion function in a character input system. PSOLUTION: Additional dictionary (a time priority dictionary table, a position priority dictionary table, and a buzz term priority dictionary table) is provided to a basic dictionary. Then, in response to input of a Kana (Japanese syllabary)character, the basic dictionary is used first to create a list (conversion candidate phrase table) and then, a phrase applicable to undetermined character strings at present is retrieved from the additional dictionary, and the highest priority order is set to the retrieved phrase among phrases to be registered in the conversion candidate phrase table. A conversion candidate phrase list is displayed to a GUI of character input so that the content of the conversion candidate phrase table created in this way is reflected. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
