PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resource recovery type water purification method which can purify BOD, COD, T-N (total nitrogen), and T-P (total phosphorus) contained in raw water to be treated, and recover soil generated when purifying water and phosphorus which is a useful resource, and an apparatus using the method. PSOLUTION: In the resource recovery type water purification method, the raw water to be treated containing organic pollutant components represented by BOD and COD, and nutritive salts of phosphorus and nitrogen is continuously purified, thereby recovering the soil generated when purifying the water and useful resources derived from the nutritive salts, and recovering treated water generated by purifying the water. Tanks each having an impervious bottom surface and open top surface, being filled with carriers having water purification capacities, and being inclined so that the poured treated water flows in a constant direction are moved toward the upstream of the raw water to be treated. The raw water to be treated is poured from the upstream side, and the treated water purified while flowing in the inclined direction after being poured is recovered from the downstream side of a pouring point.
