PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user who owns contents to easily share the contents with conference participants, even when the user is located apart from a video conference apparatus, without using recording media nor connecting cables.;SOLUTION: When establishing communication of both own-side and opposite-side video conference apparatuses 11 and 21, both device information items are first exchanged. The own-side video conference apparatus 11 then analyzes presence/no presence of an electronic mail transmitting/receiving function in the opposite-side video conference apparatus 21 on the basis of the acquired device information and analyzes a command added to received electronic mail containing content data. On the basis of the result of the analysis, it is determined whether to output together with a transmission destination of content data the electronic mail containing the content data to the transmission destination or to extract and output the content data. In accordance with the determination, the electronic mail containing the content data is then output to the video conference apparatus 21.
