PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine whether the outputs of acceleration detection elements are unusual.;SOLUTION: This acceleration detection device detects the acceleration of a vehicle C, and is provided with an acceleration sensor having the acceleration detection elements corresponding to at least three detection axes p, q, r orthogonal to one another, and a control means for controlling the operation of the acceleration sensor. Each of the detection axes p, q, r is respectively arranged on the vehicle body in a direction inclining at a predetermined angle to a horizontal plane determined considering the vehicle body as a reference, and is provided so as to respectively detect an acceleration in the direction of gravity. The control means can calculate the value of an acceleration acting in an arbitrary direction of the vehicle C, based on acceleration values output from the acceleration detection elements.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
