PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection optical unit capable of suppressing an irradiation area of reference light to an object while keeping an optical system compact, and to provide a hologram element used for the deflection optical unit, a hologram element fabricating apparatus and a hologram element fabricating method for fabricating the hologram element, and an information recording apparatus and an information reproducing apparatus using the deflection optical unit.;SOLUTION: An optical beam 104 emitted from a laser light source 105 is converted by a spatial filter 106 to have a desired beam diameter, and converted by a collimate lens 107 into parallel light. The optical beam 104 converted into the parallel light is adjusted in its intensity by an ND filter 128. The optical beam 104 adjusted in the intensity is led by a mirror 109 to an angle rotation mirror 101. The angle rotation mirror 101 reflects the optical beam toward the hologram element 102. Holograms are recorded beforehand on the hologram element 102 so that regenerated light 103a-103c are collected into a predetermined position irrespective of an incident position of the optical beam 104.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
