PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a designing method and a design support system controlling an earthquake response by controlling a participation factor and a vibration mode by optimally arranging an inertial connecting element, a design support program, a body of revolution and a building structure.;SOLUTION: A method for designing the structure has a plurality of layers, on which members moving at a high speed in response to the displacement differences of nodes without being subject to the effect of an earthquake ground motion are loaded. The method for designing the structure is composed of a step of computing eigenvalues from the masses of the components of each layer of the structure and the spring constants of the components of each layer, a step, of computing the participation factors from the masses, the spring constants and the eigenvalues, and a step of computing inertial masses by the members from the masses and the participation factors. In the method, the participation factors are selected and controlled so that the earthquake response of the structure composed of a plurality of the layers is formed only in a primary mode.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
