Odorant detection apparatus and odorant detection method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for detecting an odor substance capable of easily increasing amount of detection information on odor substances.;SOLUTION: An electric current is supplied between a working electrode 1 and a pair electrode 2 by a potentiostat 4 so that a voltage between the working electrode 1 and a reference electrode 3 is a desired one. An oscillator 5 controls the potentiostat 4 to slightly change the desired voltage. A computer 7 calculates an impedance of the working electrode 1 from information on voltage and current changes from a digital voltmeter 6. On the basis of the impedance, the odor substance dissolved in a reference solution 8 contained in a filter paper 106 on a surface of the working electrode 1 is detected.
