PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthesis method capable of efficiently synthesizing a useful high purity carbonated hydrocarmite for a short time. ;SOLUTION: The synthesis method of the carbonated hydrocarmite is by mixing calcium hydroxide with a suspension prepared by mixing an alkali altuninate or aluminum hydroxide with a carbonate or a suspension prepared by mixing aluminum hydroxide or aluminum oxide, an alkali metal hydroxide with the carbonate to allow to react with each other. And an adsorbent consists essentially of the carbonated hydrocamite or a heat treated material of the carbonated hyddrocarmite or the precursor at 100-500°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
