WATER BED LAID MAT AND METHOD OF PREVENTING HYDROPHOBIC CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE IN BED SEDIMENT FROM BEING ELUDED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently suppress the elution of hydrophobic chemical substances in a bed sediment irrespective of the state of the bed sediment, without increasing the thickness of a cover sand layer.;SOLUTION: Since this water bed laid mat 10 is laid on the surface of the bed sediment 16, it conceals the surface of the bed sediment 16. Therefore, when a cover sand 18 is placed, the mat can prevent contaminated floated mud from being stirred up. Also, it can prevent the cover sand 18 from being buried into the bed sediment 16 since the mat 10 receives the weight of the cover sand and uniformizes the distribution of the load even if the bed sediment 16 is soft. Further, it can prevent the hydrophobic chemical substances diluted from the bed sediment 16 from being dispersed into water by the hydrophobic chemical substance capturing function of a polymeric material sheet formed of a high organic substance-containing material. Consequently, by placing such a thin cover layer 18 that can conceal the mat 10, the dilution of the hydrophobic chemical substances in the bed sediment can be sufficiently suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
