PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device which is downsized by adapting to long-period vertical vibrations and which can easily change attenuation by adapting to a change in natural frequency, and a cable-stayed bridge which exerts a great vibration control effect.;SOLUTION: An arm 5 for a first layer is rotatably supported on a support 3 for the first layer; an arm 14 for a second layer is rotatably supported on a support 13 for the second layer; a spring 6 and an attenuator 8 are provided between the arm 5 and a base; a connecting body 16 is connected to one end of the arm 5 and that of the arm 14; a weight 17 acts on the other end of the arm 14; a distance between a first supporting point S1 and a first layer connecting point T1 for the arm 5 of the connecting body 16 is set longer than a distance between the first supporting point S1 of the arm 5 and a spring connecting point B of the spring 6; and a distance between a second supporting point S2 and a point G of action of the weight 17 is set longer than a distance between the second supporting point S2 of the arm 14 and a second layer connecting point T2 for the arm 14 of the connecting body 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
