PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate flood depth distribution in a flooded area from flood depth in a plurality of spots obtained by a site investigation of flood damage.;SOLUTION: The altitude of the ground is first measured by a fine scale to compute altitude distribution. A flood depth is then measured by a rough scale. The altitude is added to the flood depth to compute a flood level. The flood level is spatially interpolated to compute flood level distribution.
