PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new azaaromatic compound containing an amino group providing an organic EL element which has high emission luminance and luminous efficiency and high color purity and emits red light and the organic EL element using the compound.;SOLUTION: This new azaaromatic compound contains an azaaromatic compound having an azafluoranthene skeleton bonded to an arylamino group. In this organic electroluminescent element in which an organic thin layer composed of one layer or a plurality of layers is laid between a cathode and an anode, at least one layer of the organic thin layer contains the azaaromatic compound to give the organic electroluminescent element.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
