PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce torsional torque on a rotating shaft of a centrifugal turbocharger, and improve strength and rigidity of the rotating shaft to enhance reliability.;SOLUTION: The engine equipped with a turbocharger includes a crankshaft 121, a piston 122 held slidably in a cylinder 120, and a multi-link piston-crank mechanism constituted by coupling a crank pin 121b of the crankshaft 121 and a piston pin 124 of a piston 122 by means of a plurality of links 111, 112. The centrifugal turbocharger is driven mechanically by a crankshaft 121 via a clutch mechanism. The multi-link piston-crank mechanism is constituted to conduct a piston-motion wherein the acceleration of the piston 122 in the vicinity of the top dead-center is smaller than that of the piston 122 in the vicinity of the bottom dead-center. Thus, the torsional torque input in the rotating shaft of the centrifugal turbocharger is made smaller than that in a piston-crank mechanism wherein a crank-pin 121b of the crank shaft 121 and the piston-pin 124 of the piston 122 are coupled by a single link.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
