PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a magnetic head actuator.;SOLUTION: This magnetic disk device is configured to seek sector data of a command column whose power consumption is relatively large and stored in a semiconductor memory by executing a step for calculating the power consumption of an actuator required for moving the magnetic head of a sector instructed by a command column stored in a pattern table; a step for changing the order of the command column stored in the pattern table in the descending order of the calculated power consumption; a step for storing the command column having a capacity which can be stored in the map table in a mapping table and having the relatively large power consumption in the order changed in the above step; and a step for storing the data of a sector corresponding to the command column stored in the mapping table in a non-volatile memory.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
