PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently cutting highly hard material using a wire saw with fixed abrasive grains.;SOLUTION: The method for efficiently cutting a highly hard material includes a step of cutting the highly hard material by causing the wire saw to run while feeding a portion where the highly hard material is cut by the wire saw with fixed abrasive grains with a cooling liquid whose main component is water with surface tension within the range from 40 mN/m to 80 mN/m at 25°C so as to satisfy the condition from 4.0×10^-6 ml/mm²×min to 5.0×10^-4 ml/mm²×min.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
