PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for updating virus removal data that can prevent damage by virus infection by preventing infections from other terminals infected with viruses, and, if infected with viruses, preventing the spread of the viruses to other uninfected terminals, while quickly procuring data, programs or the like adapted for the removal of the viruses. PSOLUTION: The device 30 for updating virus removal data includes a communications sending/receiving means 32 for sending and receiving communications data via a communications line 3; a broadcast receiving means 31 for receiving broadcast data via a broadcast wave 2; a communications interrupting means 33b for interrupting the communications by the communications sending/receiving means 32 according to an instruction from the outside; and a virus removal data acquisition means 34 for acquiring the virus removal data distributed on the broadcast wave 2 via the broadcast receiving means 31 according to an instruction from the outside.
