ELECTRONIC TAG SYSTEM HAVING INVALIDATION RELEASE FUNCTION FOR ELECTRONIC TAG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that although it may be assumed that an IC tag should be validated in order to secure any consumer benefit or to fulfill social necessity even after merchandise is handed over to the consumer, irreversibly invalidating an IC tag for privacy protection makes it impossible to utilize the IC tag for those beneficial applications, and that when the IC tag is provided with a function of releasing invalidation, there remains such a concern that invalidation may be remotely released before the consumer knows it, and that information may be read.;SOLUTION: Individual random invalidation release keys are set for an IC tag provided with an invalidation function and an invalidation release function. The IC tag permits only an invalidation release command to which a valid invalidation release key has been added. At the same time, the invalidation release key is stored in the IC tag in such a form that it can not be remotely read by radio. Thus, the invalidation release key is safely and easily handed over to a consumer who should have the invalidation release authority of the IC tag.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
