PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deviation of trim chips to a metal band transmission side, and to prevent generation of tip folding of trim chips in a chute.;SOLUTION: In this side trimmer device, both end edge parts of the metal band are cut by a rotary round blade, the cut trim chips are guided into the chute provided on an outlet side of the rotary round blade and are delivered to a lower side, the transmitted trim chips are guided to a chopper device, and the trim chips are cut or wound on a winding device by being guided to the winding device. The chute has cut-out parts on wall parts in the metal band end edge part passing parts on the rotary round blade side or the metal band end edge part passing parts on the rotary round blade side and wall parts on upper parts of the metal band end edge parts. The chute is formed into a cylindrical shape to have wall parts to cover upper and lower sides of the metal band end edge parts and sides of end parts except the cut-out parts. An upper part wall of the trim chips guiding part of the chute is formed into a flat shape inclined to the front to turn the advancing direction of the trim chips downward by applying downward force to the trim chips.
