PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer which offers a high working efficiency and can be easily handled in a cracking/grinding step when being processed it into a finished product, without deteriorating performance such as cohesive property or detachability inherent in a saturated carboxylate polymer of N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylate. PSOLUTION: The cationic high-molecular-weight polymer is obtained by polymerizing a mixture of a tertiary amine-sulfate monomer and a tertiary amine-saturated carboxylate monomer formed by reacting a saturated carboxylic acid having at least two carboxylic acid groups within a molecule, sulfuric acid and an equivalent amount of N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylate against the total amount of carboxylic acid groups in the saturated carboxylic acid and sulfuric acid. Here, the amount of sulfuric acid used is adjusted so that 10-30% of the total number of moles of the N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylate is consumed. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
