PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyfunctional isocyanate compound which refuses a substance to permeate under a low energy load enables the substance to permeate easily under a high energy load, is stored without blushing and coloring by light, and produced at a low cost, to provide a microcapsule a thermosensitive recording material and a multicolor thermosensitive recording material using the same. SOLUTION: The multifunctional isocyanate compound is an addition product of (B) a compound having two or more isocyanate groups in the molecule with (A) a compound represented by formula (1): (wherein R1, R2, R3, and R4 are independently hydrogen, a halogen, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group or an aryloxy group; R5 is hydrogen, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group; and R6 is hydrogen, an alkyl group or an aryl group).
