Fixed pattern noise correction method and fixed pattern noise correction apparatus for infrared imaging device

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image signal with high accuracy by effectively utilizing an internal shutter provided on the inside of an infrared ray imaging apparatus. PSOLUTION: The infrared ray imaging apparatus is provided with a second frame memory 6 for storing internal shutter characteristic correction data Xb to correct a fixed pattern noise component caused by temperature unevenness of the internal shutter 5 independently of other memories so as to be capable of optimizing only the internal shutter characteristic correction data Xb at any time by update operations. Since the infrared ray imaging apparatus can properly eliminate the fixed pattern noise component caused by temperature unevenness of the internal shutter 5, the imaging apparatus can correct the fixed pattern noise with the accuracy nearly the same as that of a case when a large sized external shutter at the outside of the apparatus is in use.
