PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermittent operating a trash rack rake not requiring electric power capable of automatically brought into intermittent action in a necessary range, depending on changes in level of water upstream of the rake.;SOLUTION: Intermittent operating trash rack rake not requiring electric power for use in a channel includes the screen 16 disposed to face upstream of the channel, and a refuse scraping and discharging means comprising a raked chain which rotates on the back of the screen. A motive power generating means includes a hydraulic turbine 6 disposed downstream of the screen 16 and rotated by flow of water in the channel. The rotation of the hydraulic turbine 6 is transmitted by a motive power transmitting means. A clutch means connects and disconnects the output of the motive power transmitting means to and from the refuse scrapping and discharging means. A clutch control means has a float 1 which moves up and down as the level of water upstream of the screen 16 rises and falls, and a transmitting means for transmitting the position of the float 1 to the clutch. When the level of water exceeds a certain level, the clutch means is operated to connect the motive power transmitting means to the refuse scraping and discharging means; when the level of water falls below the certain level, the clutch means is disconnected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
