PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support both IEEE802.1p/Q and IETF differentiation service traffics by transmitting both known and unknown traffic characteristics from a transmission source to a network.;SOLUTION: The traffic has the unknown characteristic which includes the traffic having the weighted priority and the traffic having no weighted priority. A system 10 has a network where the traffic is transmitted. A transmission source 12 is connected to the network and transmits the traffic including both known and unknown traffic characteristics to the network. The system 10 also has a receiving destination 16 which is connected to the network and receives the traffic including both known and unknown traffic characteristics.
