PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide soft magnetic steel which has excellent cold forgeability, particularly in the dimensional precision of molded parts, and can secure excellent magnetic properties on a level of the JIS-SUYB-O class by performing magnetic annealing after molding.;SOLUTION: The soft magnetic steel contains C, Si, Mn, Ti and N so as to satisfy 5[Ti]/[N]20 {[Ti] is the content (mass%) of Ti, and [N] is the content (mass%) of N}, and has a metallic structure of a ferrite single layer. In the ferrite crystal grains, Ti based precipitates having a mean grain diameter of 0.5 to 1 m are present in 2 to 8 pieces/100 m2 on the average, and the number of Ti deposites having a mean grain diameter of 1 m are present in 1 piece/10,000 m2 on the average.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
