PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device in which sound cut off hardly occurs since overflow hardly occurs while the recording of the same musical piece as the currently reproduced musical piece in an HDD is not completed.;SOLUTION: The recording and reproducing device comprises: a reading means capable of reading a sound signal recorded in a disk at a speed higher than a reproducing speed; a buffer means for temporarily recording the sound signal read by the reading means; a recording means for recording the sound signal temporarily recorded by the buffer means; and a sound signal reproducing means for reproducing the sound signal recorded by the recording means.
