PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound capable of being easily synthesized, capable of achieving a high asymmetric yield and a high chemical yield and useful as an asymmetric synthesis catalyst. ;SOLUTION: The compound of formula I [X is a (substituted)(CH₂); (n) is 2-20], preferably a compound of formula II, is preferably obtained, for example, by condensing (A) a dicarboxylic acid dichloride of formula III with (C) Meldrum's acid of formula IV in the presence of (B) pyridine, concretely dropping the component A on a solution containing the components B and C in dichloromethane for 30 min under cooling with ice and further continuing the reaction at room temperature for about 2 hr.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
