PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrating wave drive device of high durability, in which the wear of a friction contact surface is restrained.;SOLUTION: This device consists of a vibrator 1 which generates vibration, and a moving body 2 that comes into contact frictionally with the vibrator 1 and is moved relative to the vibrator 1 through vibration. A friction material 2a of the vibrator 1 or the moving body 2 is formed of a spray deposit of tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC-Co).
