PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse wave measuring instrument which corresponds to the position deviation of a sensor module and the position change of an artery in real-time, selects the combination, and is robust against disturbance.;SOLUTION: The pulse wave detector 10 determines in real-time the optimum combination of one pair of light receiving and emitting elements P and L among the plurality of the light emitting elements L and light receiving elements P through the use of a difference in the signal intensity of a pulse wave signal from a light reception signal P.
