Country information setting method and access point of access point

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a country information setting method of an AP and an AP which eliminate any trouble of initial setting at the time of AP newly setting and lead no cost increase.;SOLUTION: A newly set AP scans all of the channels, tries to receive a beacon radio wave from an existing AP in the surroundings, and determines whether or not the beacon radio wave can be received. When the beacon radio wave can not be received even by scanning all of the channels, it is supposed that the existing AP does not exist in the surroundings, and an operator manually sets country information (at steps 301-303). When an AP has already existed in the surroundings by the determination at step 302 and the beacon radio wave from the existing AP can be received, the newly set AP extracts the country information from the received beacon and sets the country information to the AP itself (at step 304).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
