PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover data damaged by a failure or the like caused while processing is being executed from backup data at high speed. PSOLUTION: A host 101 issues a pair formation request and a pair division request to a disk subsystem 109, creates a snapshot of a volume 108, and starts processing. After the creation of the snapshot onwards, the disk subsystem 109 stores a position of updated data as differential information 111. When the data recovery request from the host 101 is received, the disk subsystem 109 restores data where the update is performed from the snapshot on the basis of the differential information 111.
