PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject method giving no influence on the taste and quality of a product, to provide an ultraviolet sterilizer suitable for a thick liquid, and to efficiently sterilize different kinds of liquid with a single ultraviolet sterilizer. ;SOLUTION: This sterilization method comprises sterilizing a raw laver-mixed liquid by ultraviolet irradiation prior to a straining process in dried laver production processes; wherein a stirring in the raw laver-mixed liquid is caused during the ultraviolet irradiation process so as to increase sterilization efficiency, and the water (recycling water) separated from the raw laver is sterilized in the ultraviolet sterilization process identical as that for the raw laver-mixed liquid. The other objective sterilizer has such a scheme that the flow paths of plural optically transparent pipes placed in juxtaposition close to ultraviolet lamps are connected to one another so as to be in series, and a fluid flowing through the pipes in series is repeatedly sterilized by the ultraviolet lamps so as to increase external irradiation-type sterilization ability; wherein a first and second fluids are each sterilized by ultraviolet rays through the first and second flow paths different from each other, and at least one ultraviolet lamp is shared in the first and second low paths.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
