A system for producing and visualizing the response of a cell. The cell has a surface. A probe is provided. The probe is derivitized so that at least one bio-active molecule is covalently linked to the probe. The at least one bio-active molecule is delivered to the surface of the cell producing a response of the cell. The response of the cell to the at least one bio-active molecule is visualized.
