The present invention relates to a device for measuring permanent length deformations in materials includes at least two measuring elements (1) attachable to a material to be measured, and a portable impression body (2) with an impression face (21). The measuring elements (1) being provided with measuring edges (11) are fixedly attached to the surface of a material being measured in pairs with the direction of the edge (11) axes parallel to each another. The impression body (2) impression face (21) is made of a material characterized by dimensional stability and hardness less than that of the material of the measuring elements (1). The invention further relates to a process for producing the above-described measuring device, wherein the production process comprises attaching a transport fixture to a triaxial table of an industrial machine, whereupon measuring elements are placed onto the holes of the transport fixture. Subsequently, using accurate measuring instruments the mutual distance of the measuring elements and exact parallelism of edge axes are set and then the measuring elements are fixed in that position by means of an adhesive.
