IR JAMMING SYSTEM FOR DEFENCE AGAINST MISSILES WITH IR-SENSITIVE HOMING HEADS

The system has an infrared sensitive seeker head producing a set of deception radiations (10). The dimension of the infrared sensitive seeker head is smaller than an optical aperture (5) of the infrared sensitive seeker head of a missile (1). The deception radiations are produced by a set of coherent light sources. The deception radiations form a two-dimensional pattern. An array of optical fibers is attached to a high power laser at one end and to a lens system at another end, for producing the two-dimensional pattern of the deception radiation. An independent claim is also included for a deception method for defending against a missile.
