The technical field of the invention relates to stable solid dosage forms of amlodipine besvlate and processes for their preparation. In particular, the solid dosaqe forms have reduced levels of 3-ethyl methyl [(2-aminoethoxy) methyl] (2-chlorophenyl) methylpyridine-3.5 dicarboxylate ("impurity D") and total impurities when free of dicalcium phosphate and include microcrvstalline cellulose.
