The emergency call station (1-4) comprises at least one push-button (12) , one electronic checking and controlling card (13) , with permanently activated components and in-sleep components intended to be activated by one (18) of the activated components under the actuation of the push-button (12), and a sound card (14) controlled by the checking and controlling electronic card (13) . The checking and controlling electronic card (13) is provided so that actuating the push-button (12) results in the control of the sound card (14) and the emission of a sound signal before the in-sleep components thereof are activated.
