A DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM TO MONITOR PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS AND DATA ACQUISITION HARDWARE

A vest in the form of T-shirt is integrated with an array of wires either stitched or wcaved. The sensors to monitor the physiological parameters are integrated into the fabric by taking interconnection points at the suitable locations on the vest. The interconnection points are obtained by removing the insulation sleeves on the integrated wire and the joints are soldered and shrinkable rubber sleeves cover the soldered joints. The physiological parameters monitored are Electrocardiogram (ECG), Photoplethysmogram (PPG), heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, body temperature, Galvanic Skin Response (GSR). The noises associated with ECG recordings with the conventional sensors are overcome by the use of a customized ECG electrode made of silicon rubber with pure silver fillings, which is worn in the form of a belt. The artifacts that can be overcome are baseline wander and movement artifact when the subject is moving. The acquired data is fed to wearable data acquisition hardware, where the data is digiti/ed, processed and transmitted to a remote monitoring station. The physiological data along with the Global Position System (GPS) data is transmitted to locate the wearer.
