A screw conveyor (2) adaptable in a decanter centrifuge for separation of solidparticles from a fluid compound, comprising a central body (10), at least oneconveyor thread (11a; 11b) and at least one baffle (12) bridging a flow pathformed between different parts of the conveyor thread. The screw conveyor (2)has at least two originally separate parts (22,23) , each of which comprises aportion of said conveyor thread (11a; 11b) and which are kept together axially.The baffle (12) constitutes a separate member arranged to be kept in placebetween said parts (22,23) of the screw conveyor, when these parts are kepttogether axially, and has a portion (26;27) which forms a part of the conveyorthread (11a;11b) in an area where the conveyor thread intersects with andextends past the baffle (12).
