The present invention discloses compositions based on synthetic anhydrite Type II for the manufacture of bricks, blocks, units for covering walls, artificial façade stones and stone imitation floor tiles useful in construction, and processes and methods for manufacturing said units. The invention consists in mixing soluble additives with water, wherein said water is subsequently used for the preparation of an anhydrite mixture, this latter process being rather important since it allows the additives to be perfectly dissolved in order to obtain a more effective and complete reaction using therefore the lowest possible amount of additives which surprisingly will activate anhydrite, thus avoiding excesses; in case the reaction is not carried out in a complete manner the obtained final product will react upon being in contact with water, thus promoting the growth of some anhydrite crystal, and therefore an expansion of the element. The process and method for the manufacture of the inventi ve units result in a chemically stable constructive element, having an excellent size stability, a great resistance, hardness and a low water absorption, the constructive element being characterised in that it may be used outdoors, surpassing standards required by the construction industry.
