The device has two movable transverse seam jaws (9, 11) connected relative to each other for manufacturing a bag of a bottom-forming transverse seam. A molding device (7) provides the transverse seam to enclose a floor edge and a bottom edge. The transverse seam jaws are provided with form elements (13, 15), where the transverse seam is induced by the transverse seam jaws utilized for heating molded elements. The form elements are provided with a U-shaped sharp edge with legs (21, 23) and a bridge portion. The form elements are made of thermal conductivity material whose domestic water coefficient is 15 W m-1 K-1. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rectangular-shaped block bottom bag .
