The device has an electronic key (5) comprising a medium for producing a capacitive near field which is used to transmit an identification data. A device is provided for coupling capacitive near field onto a person (4) carrying the key. A reception unit (8) is in form of a wall reader (9) which is separate from a lock (2) and actuator (3), and comprises a capacitive coupling face. An alternating current circuit is closed and flow of electricity is produced through the reception unit and is detected by the reception unit, when capacitive coupling face is touched or approached by the person. An independent claim is also included for writing and reading unit for the device.
