Compositions of ezetimibe and methods for the treatment of cholesterol-associated benign and malignant tumors

Provided is the use of a therapeutically effective amount of an azetidinone-based cholesterol absorption inhibitor in the manufacture of a medicament for the administration to a patient either at risk of developing a cholesterol-associated tumor or already exhibiting a cholesterol-associated tumor. Further provided is a composition for the prevention or treatment of a cholesterol-associated tumor comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an azetidinone-based cholesterol absorption inhibitor and at least one other anticancer agent.
