Disclosed are the pure E and Z isomers norgestrel 3E- and 3Z-oxime, as well as processes for the synthesis of the E and Z mixture of isomers and the pure isomers. The 3E-oxime is suitable for topical administration while the 3Z-oxime is suitable for oral administration.
