This discloses a sampler 1 for taking a sample from a body cavity. The sampler 1 comprises a tubular means 4 to be introduced in the cavity, the introduction end of which is curved to define a central sampling opening 6, storage means 5 connected to the tubular means 4 and vacuum means connected to the storage means 5 and/or tubular means 4, and is characterized in that the tubular means 4 comprise a rigid tube having a diameter of at least 1 cm and having only at the curved introduction end a number of sampling openings 6 having a diameter of less than 5 mm.
