METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF A HEATING BOILER IN A METALLURGICAL MELTING FURNACE

The invention relates to a method for increasing the capacity of a boiler of residual heat from process gases obtained in a metallurgical melting furnace, such as an electric arc melting furnace and for lowering the dust accumulation, respectively. According to the invention, the method comprises adding a liquid such as water or a gas such as air into a residual heat boiler (1), the liquid or gas being also added into the axial direction of channel (4) of a metallurgical melting furnace, in both situations the addition of liquid or gas being made at least through a nozzle (2). According to the invention, the apparatus for the application of the method comprises at least a nozzle (2) mounted in the first end of a radiation chamber (5) of the residual heat boiler (1), having the axis inclined relatively to the gas stream entering the radiation chamber (5), and in a wall in the axial direction of the channel (4) of the melting furnace there is mounted at least a nozzle (2).
