The invention relates to a wall meant to support and thermally insulate the membrane of a sealing tank. According to the invention, the wall comprises at least one stiffening element (16) placed inside an inner space (26) on a transverse direction as related to some internal partition walls (14) and presenting one of some coupling zones (17 and 18) to each of the internal partition walls, the said coupling zones (17 and 18) extending on a height larger than or equal to half the distance between some bottom and closing panels (11 and 23), respectively, in order to increase the buckling resistance of said walls.
