A method for predicting preeclampsia in the pregnant women provides for the assessment of the functional state of endothelium. The diameter of the brachial artery, the peak systolic and maximal end-diastolic rate at rest and in the course of the reactive hyperemia are measured. Endothelium-dependent vasodilatation is also measured. The values below 12-13 % are suggestive of the development of preeclampsia.
