METHOD FOR NON-MEDICAMENTOUS THERAPY IN TREATING ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION IN PATIENTS WITH MANIFESTATIONS OF METABOLIC SYNDROME

A method for non-medicamentous therapy in treating the arterial hypertension in the patients with the manifestations of the metabolic syndrome comprises the diet and the increasing physical activity. For the diet, the foodstuff containing carbohydrates with medium (40-70 %) or low ( 40 %) glycemic index are used, i.e. the low-carbohydrate food with low fat content. Daily the respiratory exercises are performed. At least twice a week, isometric and isostatic exercises are performed. The exercises are directed against the major component of the metabolic syndrome, the abdominal obesity.
