The invention relates to metallurgy. A method for out-of-furnace aluminothermal smelting of ferrovanadium comprises the preparation of charge, its loading in smelting unit, at a that charge contains two parts basic charge and refined mix, at that refined mix is loaded on bottom of smelting unit, and basic charge is loaded on top of it, melting, cooling and separating of smelting products, at that overstock of reducing agent is introduced into basis charge with its subsequent removal from melt by introduction of oxidizing agent, and iron-aluminium alloy or it mix with aluminium powder is used as a reduction agent. The invention allows the increasing of extraction of vanadium from ferrovanadium and carrying out of melting only due to heat of exothermal reaction.
