The invention relates to medicine and chemical and pharmaceutical industry, in particular, to the obtaining of new physiologically active compound (2-hydroxyethyl)trimethylammonium thiooctate (choline thioctate), having hepatoprotective, hypoamoniemic and detoxic action, to the development of method for production thereof and pharmaceutical compositions containing based on it.The technical result, which is obtained at implementation of the invention, consists in the obtaining of new physiologically active chemical compound (2-hydroxyethyl)trimethylammonium thiooctate (choline thioctate), having hepatoprotective, hypoamoniemic and detoxic action, to the development of method for production thereof, which provides higher level and larger region of specific activity with simultaneous simplification of reducing of duration of the technological process, as well as in development of pharmaceutical compositions based on new physiologically active chemical compound (2-hydroxyethyl)trimethylammonium thiooctate (choline thioctate) in different medicinal forms, use of which leads to the diversification of hepatoprotective agents.
